What is your mission statement?
Emma’s Footprints is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing emotional support, compassionate guidance, and financial assistance for burial, cremation, memorialization, and counseling services for families grieving infant and pregnancy loss. From an early term pregnancy loss to the baby being 12 months old. No matter when the loss occurred.
What is your biggest goal this calendar year?
It is our 10 year anniversary this year and we feel like God is wanting us to focus on strengthening the relationships of our staff & volunteers in our organization and the families we have already served. This mission is heavy work. This mission is holy work, and we want our team to be prepared for what He has next for Emma’s Footprints. So our biggest goal this year is focused on #relationships.
Do you remember the exact moment you knew you wanted to do something bigger in memory of Emma?
I remember the moment when I felt The Lord tugging on my heart to do something. It was about 5 years after Emma died when He asked me to start a non-profit. I told Him no a couple of times. Then I thought, OK, I’ll walk forward in this and see what happens, and if I am able to help one family in her memory it would all be worth it. And here we are, 10 years later and we have directly helped over 2500 families and growing rapidly every year.
How can we help?
You can help by sponsoring a care packages that we send to every family that contacts us. We send out about 30 care packages a month to families. We also would like to be able to hold more couples retreats. It costs about $1,500 per couple and we have found 5 couples per retreat keeps it small and intimate as they learn how to reconnect after experiencing a loss.
