In My Own Words
Our Story
On June 8, 2017, our daughter, Willow Irene was born still ... through it all, though, I felt a sense of calmness and peace. It was out of my hands. There was a bigger plan for our sweet daughter, Willow. Although we don’t understand God’s will, we trust His heart. Living through something like this has given me sense of compassion and love I never imagined possible. I noticed all of the little gestures of the people around me. Some were small and some extreme - but none went un-noticed ...
Here is my thought - what is holding us back from extending these kind gestures throughout our day-to-day lives? Everything around us can be so negative at times ... why not spread a little JOY! Donate your time! SMILE more! Share your talents and skills with other people! Think of OTHERS for a change. How can you help someone else?
I think that Willow’s purpose in our lives is to spread joy, give back and appreciate the time you have with those around you. All such precious gifts that are so easily reachable for most of us. I want Willow’s legacy to be making a difference in the happiness of others through her family and friends. I want joy and love to surround me. I want to see POSITIVE posts on social media and hear WONDERFUL stories of the impact that we all can make on each other!
I have started a calendar that includes multiple “levels” of ways to implement these random acts of kindness. I have picked 31 gestures and assigned them by day ... some very near and dear to my heart. Some are very easy, little to no time involved ... some are more complex that will need planning on your part. Some have no investment and some involve the donation of money back to a good cause.
The beauty of this is that you decide. I suggest you look at it with an open mind. Challenge yourself to take the kind gesture and make it something special.
Go out there and do great things ...
